Make sure your Bluetooth™ is on, open up the app, and start a project. It will prompt you to connect when you press “Start” to begin measuring. If you do not see the device make sure Carta is powered on. Alternatively you can go into the app settings and go to devices to connect.
There are many reasons why you may not get back to start point. Firstly Carta is an estimation tool and may not be perfect. Secondly there is room for user error. For best accuracy walk at a consistent pace and stop at corners to mark points. Make sure your phone is securely in the phone holder, level and paralel with the ground.
Carta works best on level surfaces and flat work. if there are grade changes this will impact the accuracy of getting back to your start, therefore impacting the accuracy of the square footage. If you are experiencing this try breaking the project into smaller sections to minimize the error.
This version of Carta does not calculate elevation change. It is made for flat work and graded properties.
Carta currently works on IOS and Android. We reccomend Iphone 10+ and Samsung Galaxy S series (Galaxy S10+) Unfortunately phones with inadequate gyroscopes and accelerometer will produce inaccurate results.
To Connect to our Rotary Laser, PRL900 HT, you must make sure your Bluetooth is turned on your phone. Then Turn on the Rotary Laser and either press the button for Bluetooth connection or Detector connection on the Laser. To get maximum working range Connect through the detector.
(Bluetooth button will have bluetooth Icon on second row left side, While Detector button will be top left corner on key pad.)
If connecting through Bluetooth on laser simply select the Rotary Laser in our apps connected device menu.
If connecting through Detector make sure detector is turned on and bluetooth is turned on the detector. Then in connected devices menu connect to the detector and follow in phone instructions to connect to the Rotary Laser.
